Run a basic demo model
#
Startup Guide- When FRI3D is open - it opens the default database located in %appData%/DefaultDB.fri3d
- You can either create a new database or save this into another filename.
- To Create a New Database -> File -> New
- To Save File -> Save As
- To open a demo to see how it works open the Demo1.fri3d under DemoModels
- The Demo1 model has a Zone/Compartment , default scenario which is a full room burnout
- On the Compartments Section Select "..." which will list all the compartments
- Switch to Compartment 100Test
- You will see the raceways/conduits and other items displayed as well as the 3D in the 3D view
- You will also see the fire source . Select the fire source and you will see that source highlighted on the Compartment Inspector
- You can open the properties editor on the bottom and explore Fire Properties which is the source properties (ie: Heat Release Rate etc). Clicking on "..." opens up the Fire Property editor which allows you to enter the values
- You can right click on the Fire source in the inspector window and Select Simulate
- You will be presented with an option to use CFAST/FDS.
- Select CFAST and enter the appropriate end simulation time and Run.
- After simulation finishes you will get a list of limitations of CFAST for this scene - Click OK
- You will see the results of the simulation in the timeline depicting failures by Red Triangles
- You will see the temperature change as you scroll through the timeline.
- You can go back and now select FDS and select the appropriate time frame and Simulate.
- The Simulation results are stored in %appData%/FRI3D/
